How can you play Steel Hunter?

To play the Steel Hunter Battle Royale mode, all you need is a free World of Tanks account.
After you create it, you can simply download the game from Wargaming’s launcher.

Once you are in the main menu of the game, you can then select the game mode at the top next to the “Battle!” button and choose “Steel Hunter” there.

How to play

In Steel Hunter you’ll choose one of eight special vehicles that will be provided to you for free. Each of these vehicles has a fully trained crew and its own skills, strengths and weaknesses.
Played either in solo mode with a total of 20 players or in platoon mode with 10 teams â 2 players.

Last tank or platoon standing wins – classic Battle Royale!

You start with the ability of a radio scan, which you can use regularly. This will show you enemy vehicles and loot on the map.

Loot

You select a starting point and then find various objects on the map marked with colored circles and smoke. You have to stay in the circle for a few seconds to get the loot.

  • Green – Consumables: restores health and grants you ammo, sometimes repair kits, and experience points
  • Yellow – Supply: Repairs your vehicle modules and grants you either a repair kit or an ability, as well as experience points
  • Blue – Air Drops: a plane drops these. Contains lots of experience points, restores health and modules, grants ammo and a recharge for each ability.
  • Red – Spoils of War: leftovers of destroyed enemies. Contains half of the vehicle’s resources. Repairs all broken modules and a portion of health points.

Level Up

Collecting items and eliminating enemies will earn you experience points and thus level ups.

Each time you level up, you can choose between two upgrades for your tank – for example, either a shorter range of the radio scan but less cooldown or a longer range of the scan.
In total, you can level up to a maximum of 7.

Maps & Map Reduction

For the Steel Hunter mode, there are three special maps to play on. Dreamland, Arzagir 4.04, and Firnulfir.

  • Dreamland: An abandoned and ruined city with many hiding places
  • Arzagir 4.04: A desert landscape with dried up riverbeds
  • Firnulfir: Scandinavian tundra

On all maps there is – as usual for a Battle Royale – a mechanic that gradually reduces the size of the playing field. This so-called danger zone is first displayed in orange.
As soon as it turns red, you can only stay in it for a limited period of time before you suffer continuous damage and may even be destroyed.

Missions & Rewards

Playing the Battle Royale mode Steel Hunter rewards you with the so-called Steel Seals. You can exchange these for different designs that you can then apply to your regular tanks.

However, there are also daily missions that reward you with various bonuses such as credits, attachments, experience books and experience point boosters, as well as equipment and directives.

Besides, for each round you’ll get credits that will be added to your normal balance, and you’ll also be able to level up your Battle Pass chapters with the game mode.
