Warzone & DMZ – All information about season 5

The new Season 5 has started and brings a lot of new content for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Warzone and DMZ.
New maps, new weapons, new vehicles, two events and more!

We have compiled all the information for you!

Season 5 Contents

Content for Modern Warfare 2

As in every new season, the normal multiplayer of Modern Warfare 2 also gets some new content with Season 5. These we present to you here briefly:

• New Map: Punta Mar
• New Map: Strike
• New Map: Lounge
• New Map: Canal
• New Map: DRC – Zone 1 (coming later in the season)
• New Game Mode: Havoc – New game mode that turns off perks, killstreaks and upgrades and instead turns on in round modifiers like auto reload, moon gravity or third person perspective.
• New Game Mode: Big Capture The Flag – CTF with 20vs20 players.
• New game mode: Gunfight Variants
• New game mode: Faceoff 4vs4
• Three new weapons: FR Avancer, Carrack .300, M13C

New weapons

New weapon: FR Avancer

A new assault rifle based on the F2000. Moderate recoil and fast rate of fire.
You can unlock the weapon via the Battle Pass of season 5.

New weapon: Carrack .300

The Carrack .300 is modeled after the WA2000 from the real world. It is a semi-automatic sniper rifle with a high rate of fire which is also suitable for mobile snipers.
You can also unlock the weapon via the Season 5 Battle Pass.

New weapon: M13C

The M13C is the .300 caliber counterpart to the M13B already in the game. The fully automatic assault rifle is well suited as a main weapon or reliable sniper support.

This weapon will be unlocked later in the season.

Three more new weapons

In the further course of Season 5, there will also be three more weapons that are new to the game.

Among them a new submachine gun with integrated silencer, a new pistol and the pickaxe as a new melee weapon.

It is not yet known when the weapons will be released and how they can be unlocked.

Faction Event

A limited time event will take place between August 4 and August 16. You will side with the Shadow Company or the Taks Force 141.
The main task is to take out 50 operators, but you will also get other tasks if you choose a faction.

You can switch factions either way and unlock the other rewards as well.

The faction that has collected more kills at the end of the event will receive another reward in the form of an operator skin.

Contents for Warzone

In Warzone, you can expect two new vehicles, new game modes, the Vondel Champion Quest and the Reveal event for Call of Duty 2023 in addition to the new weapons in Season 5.

New Vehicles: MRAP & Dirt Bike

There are two new vehicles in Warzone that you can find marked on the map.

The MRAP is a transporter with extra-strong armor and turrets that will start appearing in the game mid-season.

The Dirt Bike is a cross motorcycle that will allow you to cover distances in Warzone quickly and agilely.

New game modes

Two new game modes are added during the season for Warzone:

• Fort Resurgence – Resurgence game mode in the Al Bagra Fortress.
• Armored Royale – Battle Royale with the new MRAP vehicles

Gameplay & Balancing

The player count on the Al Mazrah map has been reduced from 150 to 100 players in the normal Battle Royale modes, and remains unchanged in ranked mode.

The buyback price has been reduced from $4000 to $3000.

The slide has been adjusted so that players now cover the same distances in slightly less time.

You can now start firing slightly faster after sliding.

Perk adjustments – Bomb Squad: You will now not be killed by explosive equipment that sticks to you.

Call of Duty 2023 Reveal Event

Warzone will be hosting the Call of Duty 2023 Reveal Event later this season. More info will follow in the coming weeks.

Content for DMZ

With the “Shadow Company”, a new faction joins the conflicts in DMZ mode. You can unlock new quests and daily quests for them, as well as new rewards.
More generally, there are now also weekly quests to complete.

New Items

There are also four new items in the game:

• Disguise (Field Upgrade) – You can disguise yourself as a member of an AI faction to make that faction friendly to you until attacked.
• Self-Resurrection (Field Upgrade) – You can now resurrect yourself with a combat stim in-game.
• Revive Box (Field Upgrade) – A box that contains multiple self revive stims.
• Scuba Mask(Equipment) – Protects you against radioactive gases and allows you to breathe longer underwater.

Active Combat Zones

Battle zones are found on the map throughout the game where factions fight each other.
These active combat zones aren’t hard-coded, but you’ll recognize them by killstreaks that trigger there and a small note on the screen when you enter them.

There is also more and higher quality loot – and of course more PvP.

New operators

Six new operators

Of course, there is also a whole new set of operators with the new season.

This time they are Oz (Battle Pass), Graves (Battle Pass), Arthur (Blackcell), Mila (Battle Pass), Velikan and Mace (coming later in the season).

Time limited operators

In addition to the normal operators, there are three time-limited operators that come into play on the occasion of the 50th anniversary Hip Hop crossover.
These are Snoop Dogg, Nicki Minaj (coming later this season) and 21 Savage (coming later this season).
