During yesterday’s IGN Expo event, Wanderlost, a quirky survival RPG, was unveiled.
The game first appeared on Kickstarter and is expected to enter its Pre Alpha phase soon.
The world’s first cheerful post-apocalypse
The gameplay trailer shows off some of the core elements of the game, which describes itself as a “survival crafting RPG with deep systems and the world’s first cheerful post-apocalypse”.
And the trailer conveys that pretty well.
Activities include crafting and base building, resource gathering and hunting, as well as fighting the classic post-apocalyptic enemy – zombies!
A variety of shooting and striking weapons are used – and the enemies seem to be versatile as well.
A kind of outpost with other survivors, trade and tasks can also be seen in the trailer.
On its now available Steam page, the developers also promise features like a farming system, extensive character customization, and a large world with nine unique biomes for you to explore.
Graphically, Wanderlost looks a bit like a mix of Don’t Starve and Stardew Valley and also brings a humorous approach to the game with the disproportionately large heads of the characters and the huge weapons.
