The Walking Dead universe not only includes five series (that we know of) but also games in VR, point and click adventure, and FPS.
Now, The Walking Dead: Betrayal joins them, a new game that mixes survival elements with the gameplay-elements of Among us.
What The Walking Dead: Betrayal is all about
Behind the game are the makers of Project Winter, another so-called “social deception survival game”.
A group of players must survive the freezing winter, but some of the players also have the death of their fellow players in mind.
The goal is to escape from the precarious situation – and for the traitors, of course, to eliminate everyone else.
This principle is now also transferred to the zombie universe of The Walking Dead in The Walking Dead: Betrayal.
A survivor colony has to take care of the supplies and survive against the zombie herds. In doing so, it is necessary to satisfy their own needs, produce weapons and eliminate zombies.
The traitors must sabotage this endeavor. Be it through traps, the direct elimination of the teammates or by using the zombies for this purpose and luring them to the group, for example, so that it no longer has a way out.
It is also interesting that dead teammates do not completely drop out of the round. They take control of the zombies and can also still be involved in the game.
A closed beta phase has been announced for August 10, 2023, which you can already sign up for on the game’s official Steam page.
