The Isle – Evrima Update 6.5 with new dinos and update to Unreal Engine 5

The Evrima version of the dinosaur survival title The Isle has received a new update. With update 6.5 comes not only some new playable dinosaurs for the players, but the game also switches to the new Unreal Engine 5.

New playable dinosaurs with interesting mechanics

Four new playable dinosaurs come into the game with update 6.5, all of which bring some very interesting mechanics.
Of course, in the Legacy version there were already differences in health, bite power and some abilities, but the new Evrima update takes it to a whole new level.

New Dinosaur: Beipiaosaurus

Beipiaosaurus is a small and nimble swimmer that is one of the first dinos in the game to rely on an omnivorous diet, eating both plant and animal food.
In addition to plants, it can also go in search of small animal prey such as crabs.

New dinosaur: Ceratosaurus

Ceratosaurus is an old acquaintance that already existed in the Legacy version of the game. The strong carnivore has two new interesting abilities.
On the one hand, due to its way of life, it builds up bacterial reserves that are transferred to the opponent when bitten, which can then lead to vomiting. The less well-fed the victim of the bite, the stronger the effect of the bacteria.

In addition, Ceratosaurus may display a threatening gesture near its dead prey, where it opens its mouth wide and claims the prey for itself.
Once it has positioned itself, it is able to deliver a quick and powerful bite to the one who does not understand the message.

The mechanic is probably similar to “Ambush” mechanic from the Legacy version.

New dinosaur: Troodon

The Troodon is a small but dangerous new addition. This nocturnal predator hunts in packs and is also highly poisonous.
It can jump at its victim and spreads poison into their body with each attack.
As soon as the poison takes effect, all Troodons in the vicinity make a sound and can attack again.

After three attacks, the maximum poisoning level is reached and the victim suffers significant damage.
This also increases the damage the prey receives from further attacks.

Thus, Troodon packs are able to take down large prey.

New dinosaur: Gallimimus

The Gallimimus is also known from the Legacy version, but has now undergone a change.
He has also become omnivorous and can search small burrows for prey.

In addition, the state of his nutrition now positively or negatively affects the speed of movement when walking and running.
The better nourished, the faster the dinosaur is.

As a herd animal, however, it has a few more tricks up its sleeve.
For example, the group leader can increase the speed of the other members if he himself is well fed and thus bring them closer to his own speed.

In addition, there is the possibility for individual animals to give a call when sprinting, which also gives nearby conspecifics a speed bonus for a short time.

Technical innovations

The biggest technical innovation is of course the change to the new Unreal Engine 5. But also new options for server administrators, a replay system and a revised graphics settings menu are now available.

In addition, as usual, there are some bug fixes and balancing adjustments for all dinosaurs present in the game.

How to play Evrima Update 6.5

To play the new update, you will need to activate the Evrima version of the game in your Steam library:

• Open the Steam library
• Right-click The Isle.
• Click on Properties.
• Select the Betas tab.
• Select evrima – EVRIMA Public Branch from the drop-down.
• Let the game download.
