With The Callisto Protocol, a new horror spectacle from Dead Space creator Glen Schofield awaits us at the end of the year.
During the Summer Game Fest 2022, he presented a “directors cut” of the latest trailer as well as some uncut gameplay scenes.
Gameplay scenes
The gameplay scenes shown are of course from a development version of the game. Nevertheless, they give a good first insight into the atmosphere of the game. You can see two sequences from the first half of the game, which take place in a medical station and in a power plant.
Shown alongside a sequence with a kind of surveillance hologram is a new type of enemy and a weapon called “Grip”, which Schofield compares to the Gravity Gun from Half Life – but this can be used to tear enemies apart or throw them into all sorts of large ventilation systems or similar – lush gore effects included, of course.

The “Scofield Cut” of the recently released trailer contains significantly more gore effects and is a bit longer than the one we already know.
