In light of the current situation, the development team behind S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 has suspended its development indefinitely.
Ukraine conflict causes development stop
The Ukrainian developer studio GSC Game World, which is currently working on the sequel to the popular Stalker series, has temporarily halted its development.
The developer, based in the capital city of Kiev, made the announcement in a video on Twitter.
The top priority is currently to help employees and their families survive in the crisis region, it says.
The development of the game has been put on the back burner, but will be continued “after the victory”, according to the wording.
Originally, Stalker 2: Heart of Chernobyl was supposed to be released on December 8, 2022, after several postponements.
«Gameplay when?» is no longer the most common question. Now we hear «Are you guys okay?» more and more.https://t.co/E6yyzTwwSd
