In January, we can only expect the regular wipe for the survival PvP title Rust without a new content patch, but the February update is supposed to include some far-reaching innovations.
We’ll tell you what to expect.

The industry update is coming

The February update will take the possibilities for automation to a whole new level. Among other things, there will be a new electric forge and workbench and also the possibility to transport, filter and distribute items from A to B via pipe systems – and all that fully automatically.

If you want to try it out now, you can take a look at what’s coming on the test servers of the so-called “Staging Branch” and help the developers with your feedback.

The end for Hapis Island

The prefabricated map Hapis Island was supposed to be adapted to the current state of the game and had received some adjustments in September.

But now it is clear that the time for Hapis Island has expired and the map will only be available during this month (January 2023). After that it will be “retired” and there will be a new map contest, in which probably a new, prefabricated map for the game should be found.

It is not yet known whether you will be able to play Hapis Island on community servers in the future.
