The monthly Rust update for March 2022 is here and at the same time announces the release of the official soundtrack.
Also included are various improvements for the monuments, vehicles and menus.

Release of the official soundtrack

The star of the March update is the official soundtrack to Rust, which is now available on Steam,on all popular music streaming services and in some digital stores.
Included are 29 tracks that have a total playing time of 1 hour and 45 minutes.

The developers are currently working on making the tracks all play in a dynamic way in the game itself, about half of them are currently already available in the game.

However, if you prefer to play without music and want to feel some Rust flair on the go, purchasing the soundtrack is certainly not a bad idea.

More Information

Lighting for monuments

Some of the older monuments have been visually redesigned to be more in line with the quality of the others. This includes better lighting and impact of light at all times of the day, adjustments to existing lighting, and other minor visual adjustments.

So far, the supermarket, the Oxum gas station, the bandit camp and the launching station have been adjusted.

You can see the results in the following images:

Adjustments for the magnetic crane

After some feedback messages, the magnetic crane on the scrapyard was also in the focus of the developers. Some bugs were fixed and the crane itself should now be more stable to drive.
Bugs like the visual synchronization between the driver and the cabin were ironed out.

To make it easier to learn how to operate the crane, fuel consumption at rest has been reduced by 80% – and as long as there’s nothing attached to the magnet, you’ll also use 25% less precious fuel.
So if you want to learn how the vehicle works first, you’ll use about 20% less fuel in total.

Improved visuals in the driver view

In addition to the monuments, the developers are also currently working on providing a better feel for the driver of vehicles.
Depending on the vehicle, you should now notice that your hands and arms move according to your actions as a driver, such as when steering in a car or on a snowmobile.

In addition, small camera adjustments ensure that a sense of movement and speed is conveyed when characters lean to the side or move.

Revised world models

Every item in Rust has a so-called world model. You can see it by simply throwing the item on the ground in the world. For some items, the quality of these models was no longer up to date, so they were revised without further ado.

These include various cans, apple and potato, the small cloth bag and the tea mugs.

Search & Load Screen

The loading screen has received a long overdue overhaul and now displays some information about the server (name, number of players, map, …) as well as some tips during the loading time.

The filter for the server search has also been adjusted, here you can now select certain tags to make the search easier.
