Giving the player complete freedom, a promise that many games have advertised with and which only a few have really kept.

In Pax Dei, however, this should now become reality, because all possibilities should be open to you from level 1 of the game – this is the promise that the developers made during the PC Gaming Show 2023.

The basic idea of Pax Dei

The game, called a “Social Sandbox MMO” by the developer Mainframe Industries, is based on the game principle of EVE Online.
The entire economy is player-driven, every material must be collected and processed by the player.

If you want to have an armor, a player must have collected, processed and forged the ore for it.
If you want to build a house, you have to collect – or have collected – the stones and wood for it.

It also means that interaction will not only be possible but necessary. And that every player has value in the game, whether they’re just starting at level 1 or have been at it for a long time.

You just want to chop wood? Go for it. You just want to work through part of the processing chain? Then do that. Or you want to process entire large orders for other players? You can do that too.

Historically authentic world

The whole thing takes place in a medieval fantasy world, which is based on 13th century Europe in terms of its design and content.

This concerns not only the appearance but also other contents of the game. At that time, fairies and spirits were believed to be responsible for certain things and there will be them as enemies in the game.

Ritual practices will actually have the effects that superstition attributed to them back then, and even brewing medieval “miracle potions” will correspond to what people believed in back then.

Besides, it’s supposed to get wilder and more mythical the further you get away from civilization.
