Although the martial arts battle royale Naraka: Bladepoint can boast good player numbers, the game will switch to the Free2Play model next week – on July 13, 2023, to be precise.
The reason is the release of the PlayStation 5 version.

The most important information about the transition

Publisher NetEase has created an extensive FAQ for the changeover, which should answer some of the most frequently asked questions.

First, of course, is the question of why the game is being switched from its purchase price of €19.99 to the Free2Play model at all.
After all, with over 80,000 players on Steam at the same time, the title can definitely be called successful.

We want to make NARAKA accessible for as many players around the world as possible, so we’re making it free to play. We hope that reaching this milestone will boost the game’s popularity and help us reach an even wider audience!

In terms of content, all of the game’s content – all game modes, events, cosmetic items, and character customizations – will be available to new players after the changeover, as well as to purchasers of the game.
However, those who have previously purchased the game will include compensation in the form of gold coins, which can be used to purchase in-game items.

Differences – Free vs Purchaser

Differences between free players and players who have bought one of the purchase editions will, of course, still exist.

Free 2 Play

As a player of the free version you will get access to the heroes Viper, Tianhai, Zipin Yin & Matari at the start. You will also be able to use the leaderboard from level 50 and the lobby chat will be unlocked from level 20.
You can earn up to 35 Hero Coins per week, and you can get a new Hero for 100 Hero Coins – so unlocking takes a bit of time.

Buyers

As a buyer of one of the editions (Standard, Deluxe or Ultimate) you also start with the heroes Viper, Tianhai, Zipin Yin & Matari – but you have an additional 300 Hero Coins at your disposal, so three more heroes of your choice.
The ranking list is unlocked from level 20, the lobby chat even from level 5.
In contrast to the free version, you can earn an unlimited number of Hero Coins per week.

New content

In addition to the switch to Free2Play and the launch on the PlayStation 5, there will also be some new content on July 13, 2023.

For example, the Dual Halberds will be a new weapon in the game, the heroine Tessa will join the roster, and a new 12 vs 12 game mode will also be added.
