The developers of Hunt: Showdown have published a detailed video in which they talk about their plans for the coming year 2023 and also give a preview of important points in 2024.

Update cycle
The major updates for the year 2023 are to be released in each quarter. Accordingly, there will be four major content updates – spring, summer, fall and winter.
In terms of content, each of these updates should significantly change or expand a part of the game – this also includes the events.
In between, there will always be smaller content bites and of course fixes, but they will be rather small in scope.
Plans for Q1-Q4 updates
Spring updates (Q1)
The spring update will be update 1.12 and has already been announced.
Here are the most important points again in a nutshell:
- Ability extras for solo players
- Self-resurrection via necromancer returns
- Complete tutorial for newcomers
- Fully scripted & voiced by Doug Cockle (original voice of Geralt of Rivia)
- Player choices for contracts
- Wildcard contracts like night maps only
- Improved matchmaking for more full matches
- Two new questlines with teasers for the summer event

Summer updates (Q2)
- Introduction Boss Categories: Boss targets and wild targets
- Bosses are located in their lair, wild targets are located freely on the map – both will drop bounties
- New target (probably the new wild category)
- Blood token revision
- Actions such as skill reallocation, life bar, etc., should no longer cost blood tokens
Blood tokens should only be used as currency for cosmetic content

- The first event in 2023
- New pacts & skills (similar to the Devil’s Moon event)
- New “wildcard” condition for matches
- Similar to Inferno, probably weather-based
- Ability to selectively play or not play the new options
Fall & Winter updates (Q3 & Q4)
- Shooting range feature
- To test weapons or try out your own loadout
- Possibility to invite friends
- later maybe also the possibility to activate PvP
- Improved reporting system
- Insights into the evaluation
- Engine upgrade – CryEngine version 5.6 to 5.11
- Base for Gen9 version (consoles NextGen update)
- Direct X 12 support
- Graphic improvements
- HDR, FSR 2.1 & Direct Storage
- Event 2 & 3 of the year 2023
Undated & ongoing content
Some content, while currently being planned and worked on by the developers, is not set for specific updates – or will simply be released on an ongoing basis and is not hard-coded to any update.
- New Weapon Variants
- The declared goal is to keep the game “fresh” – and this also with the help of new weapon variants
- New special ammunition types
- The same applies to ammunition types and the availability of special ammunition for existing weapons.
- New hunters from different cultures
- New hunters will be released continuously during events and as DLCs
Plans for 2024
The new year 2023 is not that old yet, but Crytek already has plans for the following year 2024.
- New map – definitely no release in 2023
- New map & new map biome
- no mere recycling of known assets
- More game modes
- Custom lobbies
