With the upcoming update 1.13, Crytek will not only bring new content into the game, but also completely turn the blood token economy in Hunt: Showdown inside out.
We’ll give you a brief overview of what exactly will change:
Contents
Permanent discount for Blood Bonds removed
For a very long period of time, the Blood Bonds packages were almost permanently discounted and gave additional bonus tokens the larger the package purchased was.
With the update, this discount will be removed, but you will still receive the additional tokens for the larger packages.
However, this will only be noticeable in terms of price for the larger packages.
The price of the game and the Blood Bonds will also be adjusted to the regional prices, but it is unclear what this will mean in detail.
Spending Blood Bonds
Redistribute life bars
Distributing life bars will no longer cost Blood Bonds with update 1.13. Removing a life bar currently still costs 25 tokens.
With the update, this will be free, but you will still need to invest skill points to buy new life bars – just like if you lost them in a game round.
Remove traits for free
Trait removal, which currently also costs 25 Blood Bonds, will also become free with the update. However, from then on you will always get back one skill point less than the removed skill is worth.
So, for example, if you remove the Necromancer skill that costs 4 skill points, you will get 3 skill points back for redistribution.
Of course, this also means that cheap skills like Adrenaline won’t restore skill points upon removal, but you’ll obviously open up the slot for better skills.
Weapons clean themselves automatically
Currently, there is still the option in the game to clean a weapon for a few Blood Bonds. This purely cosmetic effect now comes into effect automatically and for free after completing a round and no longer needs to be purchased separately.
Earning Blood Bond
BBs for completed game rounds
The few Blood Bond that could be obtained for completing each game round will be completely removed.
Crytek will also remove the 25 Blood Bond reward for the bounty extraction bonus for five consecutive days, leaving only the bonus for each hunter’s first extraction per day, where you will receive more experience points and Hunt Dollars.
Tokens for challenges
Challenges are a different story, here you can earn up to 50 Blood Bonds per week for completing challenges or reaching related milestones.
Random mechanics
Currently, some of the random mechanics are also tied to Blood Bond. Among them are the re-rolling of hunters and the new offer in the Black Market.
Roll new hunters
The re-rolling of hunters will be paid with Hunt dollars in the future. You will continue to receive a free pass after each round, then pay 100 Hunt Dollars for each additional roll, up to 500 Hunt Dollars per process.
After one round, you will then start again with the free pass.
Black Market Offer
One of the most controversial features discussed was the ability to have the black market supply randomly reset with Blood Bond three times a day.
This feature will be replaced with a one-time, free, daily re-roll of the supply starting with update 1.13.
Cheaper Battle Passes
Event Battle Passes are set to become significantly cheaper in the future. The Battle Pass unlock itself will be reduced from 1500 to 1000 Blood Tokens – and the Premium Battle Pass, which includes additional cosmetic items and event levels, will be reduced from 3375 to 3150 Blood Tokens.
