A new trailer for Hunt: Showdown once again teases the upcoming boss for Crytek’s survival shooter – and keeps the community guessing about what exactly to expect.
New boss an alligator?
Today, Friday, Crytek released a new video, which is not even a minute long. But the developers continue to tease a creature that will probably make the game’s waters even more unsafe than they already are.
The short teaser shows three hunters at night on their way through the bayou, where they are attacked by something in waist-deep water. Only a rumble at the very end suggests what this might be.
However, if you’ve been following the roadmap stream – or read our article on the subject – you already know that Crytek wants to introduce a new boss category in the game.
These creatures, currently referred to as “wild targets”, are not supposed to be bound to a hiding place and move freely on the map.
In addition, both notes in recent streams and the crocodile traps brought into the game since the quest series (which were also named that way in the game) and quite a few small teasers in recent DLC trailers pointed to one particular creature – an alligator.
The armored lizard would certainly fit into the bayou.
When exactly it will be revealed and when the event will probably take place at the same time is not yet known.
According to the roadmap, the update is planned for sometime in Q2 2023 – that is, in the summer.
