A new year brings a new Hunt: Showdown experience! 2025 kicks off with the “Garden of the Witch” event and the extensive Update 2.3, introducing numerous changes and improvements. Here’s a comprehensive overview to help hunters navigate the Bayou.
Garden of the Witch: Cursed Nature Meets Corrupted Metal
The first event of 2025 pits the forces of cursed nature against corrupted metal. At the center are the Bruja sisters and the Welders, two factions dealing with the dark powers of the Bayou in different ways.
Event Mechanics: No Pact Restrictions, Full Freedom!
Unlike previous events, “Garden of the Witch” does away with pacts or factions. Instead, hunters collect event points and pledge marks that can be spent on exclusive rewards.

Event Points and Pledge Marks
While there are no pacts, the basic principle of collecting event points and pledge marks remains:
Event Points: Earned by completing event challenges, defeating bosses, and interacting with event objects in the game world.
Pledge Marks: Obtained by completing games and looting dead hunters. Up to six pledge marks can be earned per game.
Returning Event-exclusive Traits
Three popular traits return for the duration of the event:
- Blademancer: Allows retrieval of shot arrows and bolts from a distance via Dark Sight, but no longer deals damage when pulling them out.
- Corpse Seer: Grants Dark Sight seconds when looting a dead player.
- Gunrunner: Allows carrying two large weapons simultaneously.
These traits can be acquired at rare supply points marked on the map with unique icons.
Rare Supply Points
In addition to normal supply points, there are rare variants during the event. These are marked on the map and contain:
- A sealed bounty token
- A master clue
- A complete health kit
- One of the three event-exclusive Sealed Traits
- A sealed cash register
- Sealed envelopes that can be paid for with pledge marks
Rewards: New Hunters, Weapons & Skins
The “Garden of the Witch” event offers a wealth of unlockable rewards:
- New Bruja and Welder hunters (two variants each)
- Three new weapon variants (see below!)
- Numerous cosmetic skins for existing and new weapons
- Unique inspection animations and charms
- Blood Bonds
Weekly Challenges Adjustment: More Variety for All!
To prevent certain weapons from dominating the game for entire weeks, weekly challenges have been adjusted. Each player receives the same challenges but in a different order.
