It’s no surprise that a wipe in Escape from Tarkov brings some changes and new features, but these usually happen during the pre-wipe events or with the installation of the new update.
Now, however, the developers have decided to make quite drastic changes about two weeks after the restart, which is not met with a positive response from all players, but the changes are probably intended to extend the “early & midgame phase”.
Availability of ammunition types
Many ammo types with medium to heavy armor penetration values have been completely removed or moved to level 4 by vendors, and some have been blocked from the flea market.
However, as a replacement, some of the ammo types are now craftable in the stash and can still be found in-game as loot and from scavs.
