With Chimera, the next game from the “Green Hell” developers of Creepy Jar awaits us. Instead of the jungle, Chimera sends us to an alien planet with partly adverse conditions and surprises.
The first Reveal-Trailer from the PC Gaming Show 2023 gives you a little insight into the game.
Extreme weather conditions, losses & opportunities
According to the developers, Green Hell had a problem, and that was that the Amazon rainforest has neither a proper autumn, spring or even winter.
This realization and then led to sometimes blatant environmental changes that we will face in Chimera.
Because our task is the industrialization and utilization of the planet on which we have landed. However, from time to time there are partly extreme weather conditions that we have to live with.
From temperature jumps that literally burn the planet’s surface to crashes that cause a short ice age, anything can await us.
These changes, however, not only cause many vegetations, animals and resources to disappear, but also cause others to appear in their place.
Thus, each cataclysmic event also provides new opportunities and a reason to venture out of the base again afterwards.
Speaking of the base, it is a fundamental part of your survival on the planet. You have to be prepared for all conditions – intense heat, bitter cold and also attacks from the outside.
The base will serve you as a camp for bad times, as a shelter from the weather and as a starting point for using the planet.
You’ll be assisted by various machines and robots that will help you mine, collect, manufacture and protect.
Unlike Green Hell, Chimera will be less merciless to the player, but will approach him with its own unique challenges, according to the developers.
Whether it’s extreme weather conditions, alien flora and fauna, or rapacious neighbors, you probably shouldn’t get bored on this planet anytime soon.
There is no release date for Chimera yet.
