After Blizzard Entertainment was recently bought by Microsoft, the developer now announced that they are currently working on a survival game.
We have compiled all the information about it so far.
What we know so far
- The game doesn’t have a name yet, only the genre it deals with is known: Survival.
- The game is being developed for both PC and consoles.
The content is supposed to be a completely new universe, which has nothing to do with the universes of Starcraft, Warcraft or Overwatch.
A place full of heroes we have yet to meet, stories yet to be told, and adventures yet to be lived. A vast realm of possibility, waiting to be explored.
The first images suggest a fantasy setting, but if you look closely, you will also find connections to a modern world.
There is currently no official information about the setting, only assumptions. However, the use of classic survival elements that are also used in other games of the genre – for example in DayZ or Conan Exiles – seems relatively certain.
Playable development version available
Blizzard President Mike Ybarra also announced shortly after the announcement that the game is already in a playable state and has been played extensively by him and other team members.
I’ve played many hours of this project with the team and I’m incredibly excited about the teams vision and the brand-new world it presents for players to immerse themselves in together. Join us to help make it a reality! https://t.co/pLhijX2Li9
