The horde shooter Back 4 Blood is getting its first major expansion, titled Tunnels of Terror.
It includes underground dungeons, new monsters, new cleaners and new guns.
The release is scheduled for April 12, 2022.
What’s in “Tunnels of Terror
In terms of content, the first major expansion takes players into the “Ridden Hives,” which is a sort of swarming of enemies from Back 4 Blood.
These underground labyrinths are guarded by the “Warped Ridden”.
You’ll encounter warped variants of the Ripper, Shredder and Urchin there, which present a new challenge and will also be playable in Swarm mode from the release of the expansion.
In addition to the new threats, two new Cleaners will also join the squad. Sharice, a former firefighter, and Heng, a defensible restaurateur.
Also included in the update are eight new exclusive charaker skins, seven new legendary weapons, 12 weapon skins and more than 15 new maps.
Then, for those who need another challenge, the release also brings the “No Hope” difficulty level.
Of course, for all the hardships, there’s also plenty of new loot and exclusive rewards that you can only get in the expansion.
More content is also expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
Paid DLC but no microtransactions
The Back 4 Blood: Tunnels of Terror expansion is a paid DLC and therefore has to be purchased.
However, it is enough for a single player in the group to own the expansion in order to play the new content.
Furthermore, the developers promise that there won’t be any microtransactions in Back 4 Blood, not even for cosmetic items, both with this update and in the future.
