ARK 2, the successor to the successful survival sandbox adventure, was officially announced at the Game Awards 2020.
After the release of the high-profile trailer, we now have the first new sign of life for the game.

ARK 2 is based on Unreal Engine 5
After the various presentations of the possibilities of the Unreal Engine 5 in the last few days, the developers published a sign of life on Twitter.
This announcement states that ARK II will unsurprisingly also be created and played based on the new version of the engine.
In addition, Studio Wildcard calls the game a “next-generation multiplayer sandbox survival experience” and promises more news about the game soon.
First glimpse of the game’s graphics?
In addition, an interesting image was published that you can see here as a post image. It shows the tribal leader, who is embodied in the cinematic trailer from late 2020 by none other than superstar Vin Diesel.
This is facing a new interpretation of a Tyrannosaurus Rex, which has probably just gobbled down his last meal and is still completely bloodied.
The question that remains after viewing the image – which depicts a scene from the first trailer – is whether we’re getting a first glimpse at the possibilities of ARK 2’s game graphics here.
Mixed feedback from the community
From a purely visual point of view, the image seems better than the trailers released two years ago, and after seeing what can be achieved with the Unreal Engine 5, it doesn’t seem unrealistic at all.
However, many players recall the partly problematic optimization level of ARK: Survival Evolved and point out that such a graphic quality is simply unrealistic in an MMO setting with an open world.
A possible release time or even date for ARK 2 does not exist yet, and we can expect it in a few months at the earliest, when we know more about the game itself.
As soon as there is interesting news about the successor, you will of course find it out here with us!
