The first of April is always a welcome occasion for game developers to lead their own community up the garden path and to announce some crazy things or to integrate them into the game for a short time.
We have compiled the best April Fool’s jokes of the year 2022 from the survival & sandbox games sector!

Hunt: Showdown – Legends of Crytek

The developers of Hunt: Showdown were the first to release an April Fool’s joke this year.

In the trailer for the fictional DLC Legends of Crytek, a soldier from Ryse: Son of Rome and a member of the special unit from Crysis – complete with nanosuit and futuristic weapon – take part in the hunt in addition to the nun that is actually in the game.

Furthermore, a dinosaur could be seen as a new AI in the game and finally, a player even climbed a tower of the prison of the map DeSalle in a VR version of Hunt: Showdown.

  • Due to player feedback, all skills were removed from PvP battles and all fun was removed from PvE modes.
  • Added more new content for the guy with 6,000 game hours who complained that there was no content in the game.
