7 Days to Die – Voxel title now included in Xbox Game Pass

The developers of the voxel survival adventure 7 Days to Die have announced that the game is now also part of the Xbox Gamepass. What exactly that means and which versions are available where is revealed in the following article!

Which versions are available where?

There are two different versions of 7 Days to Die, each available on Xbox Game Pass:

On PC, you can play the current Alpha 20, which was also recently released on Steam on the Stable branch.

Note: The PC version of the Pass mentioned here runs through the Microsoft Store, not Steam!

However, the console or Xbox version is only based on Alpha 15 of the game and is known as 7 Days to Die Classic. Since the game version is based on a much earlier update there are some significant differences compared to the PC version:

• No dedicated servers
• Multiplayer limited to 4 players
• Local play limited to 2 players
• Limited skill system
• No electricity
• Fewer structures
• Fewer zombie variants
• Partial problems with zombie spawns in POIs

Even though the console version doesn’t sound very exciting or attractive at first, the Classic version has built up a small and loyal fan base.

The updates of the PC version will probably not be available for the consoles for the time being. The reason is that the former partner responsible for it, Telltale Games, has stopped working and the efforts have been stopped for the time being.

However, there will be a new version for the consoles in the future, which will be based on a newer PC version.

What is the Xbox Game Pass?

The Xbox Game Pass or PC Game Pass is a subscription service from Microsoft. Through it, you can access a whole catalog of games for a monthly amount of €9.99 to €12.99, without having to buy the games themselves.

Depending on the package, the pass is valid for the Xbox One, the Xbox Series, and all Microsoft Windows versions starting with Windows 10.

Depending on whether you subscribe to the Ultimate Pass (Xbox + PC), PC Game Pass (Windows), or Xbox Game Pass (consoles only), you can then access an ever-growing collection of games.
