The developers of Dying Light 2 had some good news to announce at the end of the week – because the sequel has apparently already sold very well despite all the hurdles.
Success for Dying Light sequel
On Twitter, Techland announced that in the release month alone, over 5 million copies of Dying Light 2: Stay Human have already been sold. It can be assumed that these are copies for all platforms in total.
Either way, this should be a reason to celebrate for the developers, especially considering the plans for the game over the next few years.
A great success after all for the action-survival title that definitely had to deal with some problems both in the time before and after the release, as the following short review shows:
Postponements & Post-Release Problems
For example, the release in early 2020 was first postponed indefinitely.
The new release date in December 2021 could not be kept either and finally the game was released in February 2022.
However, the release was accompanied by news like different, incompatible versions, missing crossplay and also technical problems like the dreaded “death loop bugs” that could make a save game completely unusable.
Techland submitted a fix for this major problem and in the following weeks more fixes and improvements were released, such as for the night gameplay.
Recently, the developers announced the upcoming release of the New Game Plus mode for the game, which is highly anticipated by many players.
Now that the biggest problems are out of the way, Techland should be working on the implementation of the long-term content plan for Dying Light 2.
