The last event in Hunt: Showdown has only been finished for a few days, but developer Crytek is already giving us the first teaser for the next part of the “Tide” triology.
The next event will be called Tide of Desolation and will continue the story.
This is what the first teaser shows
However, the teaser itself reveals relatively little about possible content.
In the teaser itself, we see two hunters seeking shelter behind a fallen tree. When a creature is heard in the distance, one hunter begs the other not to let “them” get him – and is then shot dead by his companion.

Admittedly, this teaser trailer hasn’t revealed much yet – but it does show Crytek’s intention to work more with talking protagonists in the future.
And at least it leaves some room for speculation.
For example, the rain and floods in Tide of Shadows and the inferno in Tide of Corruption could perhaps be followed by a kind of scorched landscape with lots of ash and destruction, which would fit the name of the new event.
Similar to the Inferno, individual parts of the map could be burnt and covered in ash, revealing other, new problems or opportunities.
The foggy and gray environment in the trailer and the end credits with bare tree skeletons and black, perhaps scorched earth could speak for this.
Whether we can also expect a new boss, a new wild target or a new AI with the event – which is perhaps referenced as “She” in the teaser – remains (still) unclear.
In terms of timing, however, Tide of Desolation will most likely be the Christmas event, so it shouldn’t be too long before we get more information.
