Sunkenland – Survival game throws you into a “Waterworld” scenario

If you’ve always wanted to try your luck in a post-apocalyptic, flooded world after “Waterworld” with Kevin Costner, then you now have the opportunity with Sunkenland.

The survival title adds the classic survival and sandbox ingredients to the interesting setting and recently started successfully in Early Access on Steam.

What exactly is Sunkenland about?

In Sunkenland, the world has literally perished, a flood has submerged everything and the few surviving people live on boats and self-built islands.

Sunkenland is played either alone or in co-op with others and offers the following features:

• Survival: Fight off pirates and mutants while keeping an eye on your food and water.
• Build: Build your own floating islands and boats to store your loot with a modular base-building system
• Exploration: Find new creatures, resources and technologies underwater and on scattered islands.
• Crafting: The possibilities are manifold, from simple knives to modern firearms to jetski boats and lifting skimmers, you can craft everything.

Community feedback so far

The survival title with its relatively new setting has been well received by the community. On Steam, the game currently has 81% positive reviews with almost 8200 reviews at the time of writing – and the trend is rising, as the latest reviews have already climbed to 85%.

Since the game’s Early Access release at the end of August, the developers from Vector3 Studio have been providing the game with regular updates.
The small team from the USA is working on its first own game with Sunkenland and combines “experience from different areas of the games industry”.

At the time of release, the title reached over 26,000 players at a time; currently, over 5,000 players are still playing daily.

Sunkenland has been available on Steam since August 26, 2023 at a price of 19.50€.
