Halloween Event “The Haunting”
This year’s Halloween event is called The Haunting and will start on October 17 in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone.
In addition to event game modes and customized existing game modes, a whole bunch of skins and other surprises are waiting for you.
During the event, you will encounter some special features in the different game modes:
- Captured Souls: Kills and taking out monsters will earn you souls that you can exchange for rewards.
- Haunted Box: The zombies sometimes drop this box, which spits out ammo and armor but could also devour you.
- Bloodseeker Grenade: A special grenade that attaches to targets and makes them visible in thermal vision.
- Trick or Treat – Jumpscare Boxes: As usual, each loot box during the event could also hide a jumpscare that will give you a good scare when you open it.
Event Game Modes
During “The Haunting” event, the following game modes will be available:
- Operation Nightmare: A horror bounty hunt where you take on supernatural creatures.
- Vondead: A zombie plague has struck Vondel and you’ll have to take out the “Butcher” to stop it.
- Zombie Royale: The return of the popular Battle Royale spin off, where you can continue playing as a zombie after dying.
- Vondead Lockdown: A mix of Battle Royale and Hardpoint on Vondel as the zombie plague rages.
Halloween event also in DMZ
Not only Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone, but also DMZ is part of The Haunting Event. Here, the normal AI opponents are exchanged for monsters for the event period and the operations mostly take place at dusk or night.
Other content from the event will also be transferred to DMZ.
Content for Modern Warfare 2
Modern Warfare 2’s regular multiplayer will receive some new maps and weapons in Season 6, as usual.
The La Casa and Koro Village maps will be available for all game modes, while the King and Fight maps will be available for the Gunfight game mode.
In addition to that, the El Asilo and Embassy maps will get a visual makeover for the time of the event, appearing in Halloween garb.
New Weapons
Of course, there are also some new weapons for the new season in Modern Warfare 2, Warzone and DMZ.
The following new additions await you:
TR-76 Ghost
The TR-76 Geist is a 7.62x39mm caliber bullpup assault rifle. It combines solid damage values and modularity with moderate rate of fire.
You will receive the assault rifle as part of the Battle Pass.
ISO 9mm
The ISO 9mm is a reliable submachine gun intended primarily for close combat. The weapon can be used well as a “hipfire” option, but is also reliable in other ways thanks to quick aiming.
You can also get the ISO 9mm via the Battle Pass.
Dual Kamas
The Dual Kamas are a new melee option in the game. The crescent-shaped weapon makes short work of enemies in close combat.
This weapon is also available through the Battle Pass.
Doom Chainsaw
The chainsaw is not a new weapon in the sense, but shares the damage profile with the pickaxe.
It will be available on the event launch, then you can buy it in a bundle with the Doom Shotgun.
New Operators & Skins
Besides new content and weapons, new operators and operator skins are of course part of every new Call of Duty season.
This time you can expect the following content:
- New Operator: V4L3RIA (available in the Blackcell Battle Pass)
- New Operator: Al Simmons (available when purchasing the Battle Pass)
- New Operator: Spawn (available when purchasing the Battle Pass, skin changes after completion)
- Burned Spawn (Operator Skin for Al Simmons)
- Creepy Clown (Operator Skin for Fender)
- Violator (Operator Skin for King)
- Disruptor (Operator Skin for Horangi)
- Soul Crusher (Operator Skin for Vega)
- Nikto Spawn (Operator Skin for Nikto)
Theme Bundles
The following themed bundles will be available in-game from the start of the event:
- Diablo Bundle: Inarius & Lilith
- Skeletor (Overlord of Evil)
- Ash Williams (Evil Dead 2)
- Alucard (Hellsing)
- DOOM (DOOM, Weapon Bundle)
