The developers of Dark and Darker have once again released some videos that show some of the new features for the game.
We summarize what was shown and of course include the corresponding videos.
Quality of Life Features, better Textures and Sounds
In a gameplay video lasting about ten minutes, some new features in the latest build of Dark and Darker can be seen. For example, the contents of the belt pouches are now displayed in detail next to the minimap.
No more endless scrolling through the items when you’re looking for something – instead, you can see exactly what’s sitting in which slot.
In addition, torches are now stackable again, which should counteract the space problems somewhat.
Also seen and heard are some improvements in graphics and sounds. Many textures, especially the characters’ armor, have been significantly reworked, and in terms of sounds, there are innovations for the footsteps of various creatures, in spells and some combat effects.
An amusing effect might be the use of drums as throwing objects, which even leads to the death of a character in the end.
In a short that was also published, a fix for a trick where you could escape from the spiders in the game on objects has now also been shown. In this case, the spiders now attack the object you are standing on and destroy it.

How and when Dark and Darker will continue, however, is currently still not certain. Currently, there are still two legal proceedings – one in the US and one in Korea – in which the first real movements are expected at the end of August at the earliest.
Until then, the community can only enjoy the regular update videos from the developers.
