There are again new insights into the dungeon crawler battle royale mix Dark and Darker, this time the video focuses on new features for the bard and a trip to hell.
New instruments for the bard
Unlike the last video, where we were able to watch a warlock play from a first-person perspective, we now have a dungeon run from a ranger’s point of view.
Probably the most interesting new features, however, don’t primarily take place with the player we’re watching, but with his teammate, a bard.
In an earlier video, the bard’s spells and effects looked much more rudimentary, but here we get a better picture of the class.
What can be seen and heard, however, are apparently three new instruments that the bard uses to help out his group.
We get to hear a flute, a harp and drums several times in the video and see a whole series of amplification effects in the group overview at the bottom left after the rather short spellcasting time.
Fancier hell with new enemies
The party is off in “Hell”, a deeper level of the Goblin dungeon that you can descend into through the red portals.
The textures and general design also looks much better than in previous playtests.
The group also encounters a beefy demon as a new enemy, and a boss can also be seen in the video, which summons a whole group of helpers.
However, it is unclear whether it is a revised version of the already known Lich, or a completely new enemy.
In keeping with the title of the game, the group does not manage to get out of the dungeon at the end, and the developers dismiss us from the new glimpse of Dark and Darker with the words “The dark grows darker”.
