After the last playtest it became a bit quiet around the topic Dark and Darker, but now there are new signs of life from the developers – and also a small update on the current legal dispute.
New video shows development progress
A few days ago, a new video was published on the official YouTube channel of Dark and Darker. This shows that developer Ironmace is still actively working on Dark and Darker.
The video shows, among other things, new modules (rooms) for the map Goblin Cave, the return of the skeleton skin and also changes for the Bard class.

Small Update on the legal dispute
Meanwhile, developer Ironmace is still in a legal dispute with Nexon, however, and there’s a brief update from the official Dark and Darker Discord here as well.
There the following statement was published:
Hello everyone,
I wanted to provide a quick update on the legal situation. Our lawyers in the U.S. have gotten a 30-day extension before we have to respond to the lawsuit there. This is very common in U.S. courts. I wish I could share more information about our strategy, but I’ll need to stay silent for a bit longer due to the sensitivity of this issue.I look forward to sharing more soon. As always, Hold the Line!
So it is likely that we will not see the first real movement in this lawsuit until after this deadline at the earliest.
And even then, it could take years before a result is reached.
A circumstance that Ironmace will probably hardly be able to afford financially.
And so, for several weeks now, the theory has been floating around that Dark and Darker might enter Early Access soon after all, in order to get more funding.
This was probably also the background behind the recent cooperation with a coffee manufacturer.
In any case, the situation around Dark and Darker remains thrilling – and the future for one of the most popular upstart games of the last years remains uncertain.
