Breathedge 2 is the second part of a series of games, with a hilarious, absurd look at space exploration and success.
Developed by RedRuins Softworks, the game ironizes the seriousness often associated with space and astrophysics.
What’s new in Breathedge 2?
The sequel retains much of the game’s basic tone, but expands the accessible environment and gameplay mechanics. According to the developers, there will be less of a “corridor” feel, but it won’t be an open world either. Players will be given more freedom to explore and gather resources in a sandbox space cosmos.
In the original Breathedge game, players controlled a character named The Man, who was tasked with carrying his grandfather’s ashes to a galactic funeral and became embroiled in a cosmic conspiracy. After surviving the first game, in Breathedge 2 The Man prepares a suicide mission to the farthest corners of space to stop the “Coffin Army” from enslaving humanity.
The game world is not generated prodecurally like in other titles âla No Man’s Sky, but created by hand. Each landing on a planet is its own event, which follows its own rules and offers the chance of resources and technologies.
New in Breathede is a crew that supports you in the mission. Each crew member contributes to the adventure and has their own abilities. In addition to your own survival, you now have to keep an eye on the morale of your crew, as this will have a positive or negative effect on your gameplay.
The developers have also taken player feedback into account and, for example, removed the fact that items can break after use.
However, you should be able to simply disassemble them into materials again if you wish.
And of course: The crazy chicken from the first part also returns, but it has now been “freed” from its staff and brings its own game mechanics elements with it.
