Dark and Darker – Good & bad news about Early Access

Dark and Darker has been THE topic of conversation in the survival community over the past few months.

From a vertical launch in the Steam charts to the removing from Steam after copyright accusations by the publisher Nexon to an external playtest with encrypted download, developer Ironmace is currently experiencing ups and downs.

Now there is news about the Early Access – which means good and bad for the fans at the same time.

Early Access is postponed

A new message was posted on the official Discord server of Dark and Darker today. It is the first communication regarding the further whereabouts of the game since the last playtest.

Due to the “sensitive nature of the current situation”, the developers have deliberately kept a low profile about the next steps for the game.

In the announcement, the developers of Ironmace Studios also announce that the planned Early Access will be postponed a bit.
However, they are currently working hard to release the game as soon as possible.

Of course, the initial news about a longer waiting period is less positive, but Ironmace still seems to believe in a clarification of the situation with Nexon and Valve (Steam), which can be seen as rather positive overall.

We truly hate not being able to communicate as freely as we usually do, however due to the sensitive nature of our current situation, we can’t divulge too much information right now. I know this isn’t the announcement everyone wanted to hear but we needed to let our fans know that the Early Access release has been delayed a bit.

Just know that we are working on a ton of things to ensure the game gets out to you as soon as possible.

Since no statement about a planned Early Access date has been made yet, it is of course difficult to say what “a bit later” means.
