The survival title Grounded has a new update. Obsidian itself calls it the “Super Duper Update 1.2”. Why – more on that in a moment.
Contents
The “Super Duper” Machine
The update is named after the “Super Duper” machine, a duplicator for items. For this you need the currency “Raw Science”, which you can earn through daily quests from BURG.L, as well as the new “Duper Discs”.
The first of these discs unlocks the machine, all others unlock another level of duplicatable items.
This allows you to duplicate all kinds of items – and all items keep their bonuses!
Less item grind and more fun in the game.
Base Building Helper & Coziness Bonus
Also new to the game is that you will receive small bonuses in your base depending on how high your “coziness score” is. This is increased by buildings, furniture and other decorations and furnishings.
The higher the value, the less quickly you’ll get hungry or thirsty, and you’ll even regularly heal yourself by a small value.
In addition, as your comfort level increases, you’ll also unlock new items and decorations – almost 100 items await you in five levels.
When building the bases, a small, new companion can help you, a small Gnat. It can help you build new structures.
You have to unlock the companion in Survival mode, but it is activated by default in “Creative” and “Creative with Bugs”.
Aggressive wasps
The update 1.2 also brings a new danger into the game, this time in the form of stinging wasps. You will encounter them in the upper garden area, where they also have their nests.
If you get too close to them, you’ll have a whole army of stinging attackers on your hands.
And if you’re really brave, you can search for the big main nest including the queen wasp, whose defeat will be rewarded with a new armor set and other items.
The update is rounded off with some improved options, automatically increasing loot chances and verification for the Steam deck.
