If you like to play as a Scav in Escape from Tarkov, you can look forward to some nice changes for this game style in the future.
This concerns especially the effect of the “Scav-Karma” (reputation at Fence) in the game.

This changes for Scavs

From now on, reputation at Fence – also called “Scav Karma” – will have a more significant impact on aspects of the game, especially when you reach the higher levels. But getting there will also be made a little easier.

For example, at the maximum reputation level, the Fence merchant will change its offer more frequently, and items with higher quality will tend to be selected.
The supply will continue to be fed by the uninsured items of players that were left in a raid and not brought out of the round by another player or scav.

Also, Fence is now a little less stingy about his payment for various items.
Whether this makes him a real alternative for selling – with the exception of items that are not worth repairing – remains to be seen.

The reputation level of Fence now also has a stronger effect on other things in the game, so a higher reputation level now has the following additional effects:

  • The timer of the scav box is reduced
  • The cooldown to play a scav is further reduced
  • Scav characters have a greater chance to spawn with better equipment
  • You will have more possible scav extraction points available
  • The discount on vehicle extraction points (also as PMC) will be bigger

Plans of the developers

In addition to these new features that are active in the game as of now, the developers have also communicated what is next on the to-do list.
The following changes are planned to be implemented in the near future with various updates:

  • Improvement of Oculus Audio on Reserve, Interchange & Shoreline.
  • A new version of DLSS for better performance
  • Network fixes aimed at connection stability and a reduced number of disconnections during load times
  • Improvements for the user interface when it comes to putting offers on the flea market
  • Bug fixes for the group system and AI
  • Switch to Unity 2021

In addition, lead developer Nikita Buyanov recently shared a first teaser of upcoming “vaulting” functionality in the game, which we of course don’t want to deprive you of:

There is currently no precise timetable for the planned changes and innovations.
